From Regency to Fantasy

Fictional Intruder

Go down the rabbit hole with Alice; play quidditch with Harry Potter; float down the river with Huck Finn… If you could choose three fictional events or adventures to experience yourself, what would they be?

As I am an avid reader, I find this prompt very difficult. There are so many fictional adventures I would love to experience.

#1. I am a huge, huge, huge Jane Austen fan, so for my first experience I would want to go to a Regency period ball and if Mr. Darcy, Mr. Knightly, Mr. Wentworth, or Mr. Tilney were there to sweep me off my feet, then that would be all the better. I would want the carriage to bring me to and take me from the ball as well and the beautiful dresses that the women wore too. I want the whole experience!

#2. I would like to learn magic at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I would enjoy learning in the big castle and staying there.

#3. Finally, I would like to travel to the forest of Lothlorien and visit with the elves. I would also like to visit Rivendale. The elves of J.R.R Tolkien’s world sound beautiful and amazing. I would love to talk with them and learn from them.

Reviving Bricks

You just inherited a dilapidated,

crumbling-down grand

mansion in the countryside.

Assuming money is no issue,

what do you do with it?

If money was no issue I would restore the grand mansion to its original grandeur. Depending on the time period I would turn it into a period piece. Finding furniture and decor that matched the time of the house. It would be a wonderful adventure, getting to know the house and discovering what it used to be. Going to the local library or historical center and finding out about the mansion’s history would be very interesting. Seeing who owned the house, what additions or destruction happened during the mansion’s lifetime. To bring the mansion back to life would be an amazing project.

Let’s start at the beginning…

I have decided to begin blogging in order to further my writing skills and perhaps make a career of it. I have so many new things going on in my life that I want to share them as they happen.

To start, I am getting married. The Love of my life and I have decided to get married. We are not having a traditional marriage as we have both been married before. We are going to wake up one morning, put on your wedding clothes and go get married. It is going to be the best, stress-free wedding anyone has ever had.

Secondly, we are planning to begin our family as well. Of course we are waiting until after we get married, but the plan are in the works and many of my posts will be geared towards baby planning as this is my first child; hopefully my experiences will be able to help other new moms-to-be.

Finally, I am graduating next spring with a Bachelor of Arts in English and I plan to continue on to Graduate School to get a degree in History. This is very excited for me. I am currently looking at the options of what I want to do with that career path and I will share those with you as well.

My life seems to be very, very busy just now and it seems that it will only continue to get busier. My goal is to share my adventures in life, parenthood, and career. I am love crafting and trying new recipes and I will share those as well. I want to gain experience in writing and a foothold in the online blogging community.

So, I hope you will enjoy following me on my adventures!
