A Rose By Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet…

The sense of smell is an interesting sense. You smell so many things throughout the day and more often than not, you do not realize half of what you are smelling. What I find the most interesting is what the sense of smell can do to you. The fact that certain smells can evoke certain memories or remind of you things.

My fiance was making apple butter and when I came home from work and the smell hit me I instantly thought of Christmas.

When I smell Apple Cider I think of fall and all the fun things I do during that season.

The smell of cantaloupe reminds me of summer.

The smell of fresh bread gives a comforting, home feeling.

Our sense of smell is amazing and I love pondering on what my smells bring up for me.

What smells do you have strong memories to?

The Waiting Game

Clock-Leaves-Autumn

There comes a point every summer that I am suddenly struck with Autumn Fever. I desire changing colors, crunchy leaves, crisp mornings, apple orchards, hot apple cider, and pumpkins. Not to mention that I’m getting married this Fall and it seems that so many wonderful things are happening during that time.

As a result of all of these things, I am now playing the Waiting Game. I do not want to wish the summer away, I have been enjoying the warm weather after the cold apocalypse of a winter we had, but Autumn is my favorite time of year and I am so ready for all the fun adventures that I have every year in the Fall.

This morning I found some Spiced Apple Cider Tea at work today and made myself a cup. That was my mistake. One whiff of that lovely aroma and the fever struck me.

Hit the Ground Running

I have begun to run and exercise. Today was my first day. I decided to start out small because I am not a runner. This new development of mine has come from trying on my wedding dress and finding it a bit tight. The panic the ensued has prompted me to begin exercising more and eating less in order to lose weight because I have to fit in my dress. I have around two months in order to lose about 10 pounds which I think I can do very easily. I am not super worried, but there is definitely an urgency that was not there before I tried on the dress yesterday. Otherwise I am so excited to get married!
